Vans Warped Tour are thrilled to present the Acoustic Basement Tour, which will hit the road this coming February. The tour will feature a handful of incredibly talented musicians: Geoff Rickly (Thursday), Vinnie Caruana (The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche), A Loss For Words, Koji, and Brian Marquis (Therefore I Am). Fans of the Vans Warped Tour are already familiar with the concept, as The Acoustic Basement made its debut this past summer on the tour, bringing a fresh and innovative area for acoustic music at the primarily punk and alternative festival. A limited number of VIP tickets for each date will go on sale December 18th through www.soundrink.com. All other tickets will be available at www.acousticbasement.com .
After the breakup of his band, Therefore I Am, Acoustic Basement producer and performer Brian Marquis approached Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman with the idea of an acoustic stage in the fall of 2011. He hoped to find a new home for artists wanting to showcase their music in a more stripped down setting. The stage was a hit, garnering crowds of up to 1000 people at each date of the Vans Warped Tour. “I think people really connected with the stage on Warped because it offered a raw and honest performance experience. There were no amps or band to hide behind - it was just the artist and their song, their story,” says Marquis of the stage’s success this past summer.
Vans Warped Tour and stands as the main sponsor and supporter of this tour, and are excited to see it stem out on its own this winter as it hits intimate venues throughout the east coast and mid west. Other sponsors include PropertyOfZack.com, Run For Cover Records, Green Vans, SoundRink.com and The Soroka Agency. The tour is slated to kick off in New York, NY on February 1st, and will culminate in Boston, MA, on February 23rd. Green Vans will also help to provide a van rental for the tour, which all of the artists will be traveling in.

Acoustic Basement Artists 2013
Brian Marquis is the producer of and a performer on the Acoustic Basement Stage on the Vans Warped Tour, and the first Acoustic Basement Tour. Marquis was the guitarist/vocalist of Equal Vision Records band Therefore I Am, who were based out of Boston, MA. After their breakup in 2010, Marquis moved to Los Angeles, and started writing solo music. He released his debut EP, Snow Damage, in 2011, and a covers EP, Beneath The Cover Is Earth this past June. He is currently working on a full-length solo record, scheduled for release this coming spring. Marquis will return as producer and performer on the Acoustic Basement Stage on Warped Tour 2013.
Geoff Rickly is best known for his work as the frontman of New Jersey’s post-hardcore band Thursday, which received many accolades from fans and press, primarily with their 2001 Victory Records release, Full Collapse. The band later signed to Island Records, and continued their tradition of non-stop touring, bringing a unique energy to every stage that they hit and sharing stages with a variety of bands worldwide. Thursday announced that they would no longer be producing music together as a band in 2011, and since then Rickly has toured independently, and released his solo material as a digital mixtape for fans. He is currently on tour with Anthony Green.
Vinnie Caruana is the former singer of seminal pop-punk Long Island, NY, band, The Movielife (1997-2003) and current singer of I Am the Avalanche, a Brooklyn-based punk rock band whose first album was produced by Barett Jones (Foo Fighters). Caruana plans to release his debut solo record this winter on I Surrender/ Run for Cover Records.
A Loss for Words are from Abington, MA, and released their first full-length record in 2009 titled, The Kids Can’t Lose. They signed to Rise Records in 2011, and released their second full-length, No Sanctuary, later that year, bringing their engaging combination of melodic hardcore and pop punk to a whole new level of fans. The band plans to re-release two acoustic EPs, with some additional songs- and possibly some covers- on the Acoustic Basement tour.
Koji hails from Harrisburg, PA, and has worked as an artist and activist for years, bringing a unique storytelling element to his stage performance. He has released numerous musical efforts, including splits with friends La Dispute and Into It. Over It. He is currently signed to Run For Cover records, and will release his debut full-length on the label early next year.
